Tropical Spirulina Smoothie Bowl
Here comes a bit of tropical twist to your morning!
I'm very grateful for the recent obsession over superfoods on my social media. Superfoods are probably the easiest, most minimal way to incorporate an immense load of nutrients into your day. Over the past year or so, my spice cabinet has warmly welcomed cacao, chia seeds, turmeric, and matcha. These supplements are small but mighty!
It wasn't until recently that I started seeing bright green and blue smoothie bowls all over my feed. I didn't know what it was that I needed but I knew I needed it.
Pinterest aided my discovery: SPIRULINA! Even has a pretty name. This emerald green powder is a freshwater algae that is grown in tropical locations worldwide. A measly teaspoon of it can add a huge amounts of Vitamins A, K, B12, and Iron into your daily nutrient intake. It's also a complete protein, as it contains eight essential amino acids and has immune-boosting properties. Read more about the benefits of spirulina here!
Another tropical ingredient used in this smoothie bowl are kiwis! Aside from the beautiful taste of these little tropical fellas, kiwis are also excellent sources of Vitamins A, B6, B12, E, and potassium, calcium, iron and magnesium. Read more about the benefits of kiwis here!
