Spiced Hot Cocoa

Don’t doubt me when I say I drink hot chocolate or chocolate milk every single day.

The only difference when autumn rolls around is I toss some spices in the mix to get a little festive. I can confirm, my heart feels all the more festive when drinking it!

This has been a morning staple for the past month and I would feel like I’m depriving you of something really good if I didn’t give you the chance to make it a staple for you, too.

Spiced Hot Cocoa

Things I used:

1 cup water

1/2c plant milk (@ripplefoods is the best. So frothy, so good)

2 tbsp cacao powder

1/2 tsp vanilla extract

1/2 tsp cinnamon

Generous dash of pumpkin & allspice (which I would roughly equate to being about three shakes)

1 scoop of collagen (good for the joints, better for the froth)

Sweetener of choice: I recommend using a teaspoon if using maple syrup, honey or coconut sugar. I like using a couple drops of liquid stevia! (A natural sweetener that doesn’t spike insulin. Be careful to not use too much. You can always add more but you can’t take away!)

How I did it:
Blend the water, cacao powder, and sweetener together

Pour into a microwave safe mug and heat in the microwave for about 2 minutes

Blend the other ingredients for about 15 seconds until extreeemely frothy

Pour the milk blend into the hot cocoa

Sprinkle with a bit more spice

Enjoy the coziest drink you can possibly enjoy this cozy season!!
