Tahini Basil Blueberry Oat Bars
Look, I know blueberry and basil may sound a bit funky to you. However, I’ve been wanting to make an interestingly-flavored baked good for a while now.
This Sunday I will be taking photos at a rather large and exciting event! In addition to this, I was given a pretty rad opportunity and was asked to create a new recipe for the even. What better time to put my curiosity to the test and bake an interestingly-flavored good?!
Being a little risky with a fresh flavor addition like basil was quite rewarding. I’d even venture to say they put the fun in funky…
Really though, this recipe is beautifully fresh for summer and perfectly fitting for any occasion where baked goods are needed!
Tahini Basil Blueberry Oat Bars
Things I used:
Wet-
1 egg
1/2 cup almond milk
1/4 cup maple syrup
1/4 cup tahini
1/2 tsp vanilla
Dry-
1 + 1/2 cups rolled oats
1/2 cup all purpose flour
1/4 cup fresh basil, minced
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp dried basil
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp baking powder
1/2 cup blueberries
Granulated honey
How I did it:
Preheat oven to 350°F
Mix all of the wet ingredients together until combined
Slowly add in all the dry ingredients except for the blueberries and granulated honey
Once everything is evenly incorporated, add in the blueberries
Pour the mixture into an 8x8 pan lined with parchment paper
Sprinkle a generous amount granulated honey on top
Bake for 16-18 minutes
Hahaha. I described this recipe as being both funky and fresh… maybe I should rename them “Funky Fresh Oat Bars” ???
Get funky, enjoy!!
