Peanut Butter Breakfast Bowl

Good morning!!

They don't say breakfast is the most important meal of the day for nothing! I am such a strong believer in honoring the need to start your day off with enough fuel to get you up and running. What you eat for breakfast totally sets you up for the rest of the day. If you eat a donut (which hey, sometimes you need one) then you're likely going to spend the rest of the day craving more sugar. And if you don't eat too much, you're definitely going to spend the rest of the day craving heavy foods to make up for the lack of energy you provided your body to work with.

So, after a long period of living my life without breakfast or eating only a granola bar until it was time for a lunch of a Pop-Tart and pretzels (high school was interesting), I have finally learned that the way to start my day strong is by starting my day healthy. Now I love getting creative with typical breakfast foods and making healthy, yummy concoctions.

After my workout this morning I was craaaaving peanut butter & some nice chill time outside. I made this awesome bowl and headed out to my backyard to enjoy it!

Things I used:

  • Chobani greek yogurt: plain, 0% fat is what I use! It's quite bitter on it's own but it's a great base for adding fruits and other sweet/salty things to.

    • I use about 4 spoonfuls (pictured down below)

  • Banana: 1 mini banana, sliced into tiny slivers

  • Trader Joe's Peanut Butter Protein Granola: HEAVENLY

    • I use a handful :)

  • Homemade chocolate/PB chia pudding: 1/4 cup chia seeds, 1 cup unsweetened almond milk, 2 tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder, 1 tsp vanilla extract, 2 tbsp PBfit (mix all together and refrigerate overnight)

    • I used 2 spoonfuls of this!

  • Peanut Butter: my current fav is the chunky peanut butter from Brandless. Brandless is an online market that sells food, wellness, and lifestyle products with clean ingredient labels! This peanut butter only has peanuts and sea salt in it. Nearly everything on their site goes for $3 because they don't require tax because they're a brandless company (meaning they don't have to pay for a brand tax so you don't either, it's rad).

This was so filling and satisfied my need for peanut butter. Enjoy!
