Lattés I Love a Latté: Pumpkin Spice

Today is National Pumpkin Day so it only felt right to finally share the second installment of the first ever series to be on Kailee in the Kitchen: Lattes I Love a Latte!!

Pumpkins are a hidden gem for your health. Packed with Vitamin A (carotene), Vitamin C, fiber, and the ability to lower blood glucose levels and fight free-radicals, there’s no surprise pumpkin season isn’t taken lightly.

Another plus: a can of pure pumpkin purée, no added sugars or preservatives, is SO cheap. You’d be crazy not to spend a buck or two on this antioxidant-rich food that, mind you, tastes GREAT in a latte.

I can’t really take credit for this super easy recipe, because I’m sure someone out there has shared this. But because it is a latte that I DO love… it only makes sense for me to share it here too.

Pumpkin Spice Latté

Things I used:

  • 1 cup unsweetened vanilla almond milk

  • 2 tbsp pumpkin purée

  • 6oz brewed coffee: I’m not a huge coffee fan because the caffeine gives me “HEADACHES!!!” -Josh Nichols, Drake & Josh, but the toasty coffee flavor is a necessity here! Use 8oz if you’re not a caffeine lightweight like myself

  • 1 tsp pure maple syrup: I’m obsessed with maple. Such a good fall flavor. If you’re not a fan, use honey

  • 1 tsp pumpkin spice

  • 1 tsp cinnamon

How I did it:

  1. Heat almond milk up on the stove if you’re in the cozy mood, or the microwave if you’re lazy like me

  2. Blend almond milk, pumpkin, maple syrup, and spices until nice and frothy!! (Or froth if you have one)

  3. Pour pumpkin spicey milk into your coffee

Carve a pumpkin or two today as you enjoy this cozy fall drink!
